The EREBUS project has a limited number of Collaborative Awards for StudEntships (CASE) to allocate. These CASE awards fund a student to study for a PhD whilst working with a collaborating non-university organisation. If you are a faculty member working in one of the collaborating universities (Aston, Birmingham or Warwick) or another organisation that is interested in increasing the performance of SMEs in the West Midlands region and can demonstrate a link to EREBUS’ priority theme areas (health technologies, finance or energy) then you may be eligible for funding.
CASE awards require a university and a non-university collaborator to co-supervise the PhD student. The EREBUS capacity building cluster provides a unique opportunity as the funds have already been allocated to the Universities. You may apply for these funds any time between Sept 2008 and August 2010. Applicants for this scheme do not need to adhere to the normal CASE Award deadlines as this is a separate ‘competition’, however all other normal terms and conditions apply. Send an e-mail to the EREBUS office Erebus@aston.ac.uk for further details.
