Engaging Research for Business Transformation

In an era of increasing competition, firms (especially SMEs with limited market power and resources) need to be continually innovative and transform their business. Effective knowledge transfer can help such transformation, leading to increased employment, productivity and profitability. The EREBUS (Engaging REsearch for BUSiness Transformation) capacity building cluster is a partnership developed in consultation with West Midlands business stakeholders to enhance research in order to drive business innovation. By business transformation we mean a radical change in a firm’s culture, organisation or market offerings which leads to a step change in firm’s sales, growth or productivity.

The partnership is co-funded by the ESRC (Economic & Social Research Council) and the universities of Aston, Warwick and Birmingham, whose combined resources provide a significant research capability in knowledge and technology transfer:

The principles that underpin EREBUS are to:

EREBUS focuses upon three of the ESRC’s priority areas namely energy, financial services and health technologies. Collaborative opportunities now exist through; Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs), CollAborative StudEntships (CASE), short-term work placements for doctoral students and the provision of expert advice ‘vouchers’ to access specialized academics’ time.

We would like to invite you to get involved in this transformational initiative. To find out more please contact: Erebus@aston.ac.uk
